What is Encore?
Encore is the senior adult ministry of FBCO.
We offer monthly fellowship events, local day trips, and occasional overnight excursions for those who are retired or retirement age (60+). Our goal is to help you stay active, build meaningful connections, learn new things, and enjoy rich fellowship together.
Common Questions
How do I get plugged in?
All you have to do is just come to one of our events and enjoy good fellowship with other Encore members! You can also start by joining us on Sunday and exploring an Adult Sunday School group. These groups are the best place to meet some new people and find opportunities to spend time together throughout the week.
How do I receive pastoral care?
Our pastors and ministry leaders are available and ready to help. If you have a need, you can call the church office or talk with a pastor on Sunday. Your Sunday School leaders can also connect you with a pastor for prayer, encouragement, counseling, or support during a difficult time. We are here for you.

Pastor Cade H. Farris is a native of northwest Alabama. He was raised in a strong Christian home and became a follower of Jesus when he was nine years old. As a freshman at the University of North Alabama (UNA), Cade answered God’s call to vocational ministry. At that time in Baptist Campus Ministries, he also met and later married his college sweetheart Jennifer in 1999. They have three children: Lauren, Carson, and Andrew. Cade has a music degree from UNA and received his Master of Divinity in Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. In college and seminary, Cade was a minister of music at Baptist churches in Alabama and Indiana. Cade joined the staff at FBCO for the first time from 2004-2011 as the minister to college and singles for two years and then as the minister to adults for five years. He left FBCO to serve as the lead pastor at First Baptist Church of Wedowee from 2011-2015. Before returning to the staff at FBCO in August of 2022, Cade was the senior pastor at First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange from 2015-2022. Cade enjoys spending time with his family, praying with and ministering to others, singing, preaching, playing the guitar, exercising, playing Rook, watching Alabama Crimson Tide football and Atlanta Braves baseball, and all things Star Wars.

Through her role in missions, Victoria helps connect people to the Great Commission both globally and locally. She also supports the Encore Ministry, walking alongside some of the most faithful members of the church family. Victoria holds a B.A. in Public Relations with a minor in Philanthropy, as well as a Master’s in Adult Education, all from Auburn University. She began serving in both ministries in 2022.
Victoria and her husband, Trent, live in a 100-year-old home in Notasulga with their two dogs, Kane and Phoebe, and their cat, Paul Anka. She enjoys cheering on Auburn sports, spending time at the beach, hosting friends and family, thrifting, decorating, and creating a warm, inviting home.
