Women

Grow. Gather. Go.

We desire to see women connect with the Lord Jesus Christ and the FBCO church family in 3 ways. To see them GROW in their relationship with the Lord through studying scripture and growing in discipleship, to GATHER for times of fellowship, community, and equipping, and finally to GO into the world equipped and confident in pointing others towards Christ and his love.

Women: List

Heaven, by Jennifer Rothschild  |  W

Led by Martha Tabor and Mary Winkler

Tuesdays | January 14  – March 4  |  Room 137  |  9:30-11:15 a.m.

When we consider an eternal future beyond this physical life, we have lots of questions. How can we know the truth about what comes next? In this 7-session video-based study, Jennifer Rothschild explores the subject of Heaven from a biblical perspective. She will separate what’s true about Heaven from what’s based on legend, media depictions, and hopeful guesses. As you walk through the study, you'll not only gain a deeper understanding of what God has prepared for His children, but also learn how to live with confidence today as you look forward to the glorious unending that awaits.

Esther: Daring Faith for Such a Time as This, by Kelly Minter  |  W

Led by Sandy Speakman and Beth Redden

Wednesdays | January 15 – February 26  | Room 137 |  9:45 a.m.

Join us for a 7-session study of the daring faith Esther had for such a time as this! The book of Esther has all the elements of an epic drama - a beautiful young woman who becomes queen, her courageous cousin, a foreign land, and a murderous adversary. Plus, this story unfolds in a time when the people of God are split between nations and feel uncertain about the future. This study teaches life lessons and Biblical pearls of wisdom such as:

- God’s seeming absence does not mean that He has abandoned His people.

- God is always working, even when we can’t see it.

- We are all sinful and God can use sinful people as well as people who are faithful but still not perfect.

- Obedience even in the small things teaches how to be obedient in the big things.

Women of the Word, How to Study the Bible with Both
Our Hearts and Our Minds, by Jen Wilkin  |  W

Led by Stacy Chase

Wednesdays | The Retreat  |  January 8 – February 26   |  6:30-7:30 p.m.

In this updated edition with new study questions, popular Bible teacher Jen Wilkin challenges women to go deeper in their study of Scripture, offering a clear and concise plan they can use each time they open their Bible. Many Christian women know it’s important to study God’s Word—but often don’t know where to start. If they’re not careful, they can let their emotions rule their study of Scripture and forget that the Bible is primarily about God and not us. This book will equip women to engage God’s Word in a way that both trains their minds and transforms their hearts.
