Give
Give Cheerfully. Give Faithfully.
Everything we have comes from God. Giving is one of the ways we worship Him and trust His provision. When we give cheerfully, we declare that Christ (not our possessions) is our greatest treasure (1 Chronicles 29:14; Matthew 6:25-34).
Your generosity fuels the ministry of First Baptist Church of Opelika as we reach our neighbors and the nations with the gospel. Every gift is used for kingdom impact and is tax-deductible.
Common Giving Questions
Does the Bible teach tithing?
The Old Testament tithe has long been a starting point for generosity—giving the first tenth of one’s income to the Lord (Leviticus 27:30; Malachi 3:10). In the New Testament, believers are called to give freely, sacrificially, and cheerfully as God leads (2 Corinthians 9:7).
We encourage each person to give proportionally, prayerfully, and joyfully as the Lord leads—remembering that, like the servants in the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14–30), we are stewards called to be faithful with what our Master has entrusted to us.
Can I designate my giving?
Yes. While most gifts go to the general ministry fund, you may designate gifts to specific areas such as missions, future opportunities, fellowship fund, and more. Simply note your designation in the dropdown when giving online.
Is my giving tax-deductible?
Yes. Most gifts to First Baptist Church of Opelika are tax-deductible, and year-end giving statements are provided for your records.
What is my giving used for?
Gifts are used to support our general church budget which includes missions, facilities, age-graded ministries, etc.
What if I can’t give much right now?
God values the heart behind your gift, not the amount. Remember, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). Every act of generosity matters when it’s offered in faith and love.
