You must be in good to very good physical condition. Accommodations are modest at the Hotel Valle Verde in nearby village of Santa Maria.

2017 Honduras

We will be joining our partners from the Honduras Baptist Dental Mission. First Baptist Opelika has sent over 250 people over the last 18 years to minister through medical missions in the rural areas of the country.  Larry Murphey has 20 years experience in the medical missions field and will be our team leader.  Team members do NOT have to be in the medical field to participate.  There are a variety of things to be done from sharing the Gospel to dispensing prescriptions. Last year, our team alone saw 1,529 patients and had 272 professions of faith!

This trip is open to all members 11 and above.  Minors must be accompanied by an adult.  You must be in moderate to good physical condition.  Accommodations involve sleeping bags and cots.  You will likely stay in a classroom of a local school.  Showers and restroom facilities are primitive.

The cost of this trip is $250 plus airfare for members and $650 plus airfare for non-members.  Questions?  Call Larry Murphey @ 334-744-0811 or email him - larry.Murphey@myops.net

      Our Ministry Partners

We have many partnerships that allow us to be involved in missions around the world.  Our ongoing support goes through two main entities:  The International Mission Board (Foreign) and the North American Mission Board (Domestic)

      • International Mission Board

      • North American Mission Board

      • instep

We partner with InStep with our Costa Rica Mission Teams.  We have helped to plant 3 churches on the Southern Pacific Coast

      • The Way to serve

We partner with this ministry to serve others in the Auburn/Opelika/Lee County area.

2 weekends per year we participate with other churches in the area to minister to residents through home repairs, block parties, and building relationships.

      • Orphanage Emmanuel Honduras

For over 15 years our members have supported OE.  Teams perform various tasks according to their skills and have been integral in helping build the infrastructure.  Ministries include: Construction, Childcare, Medical/Dental assistance and "adoption" of the children.

      • launch global

Launch Global is a source of mobilization & training.  They are actively working in our body to recruit and mobilize missionaries to go to the Nations.

      • Honduras Baptist Dental Mission

The Honduras Baptist Medical Dental Mission is a non-profit 501(c)(3) mission organization. We aim to spread the Gospel to the people of Honduras by filling both physical and spiritual needs, fulfilling God's instruction to us in James 2:15-17, and living the Great Commission from Mark 16:15. Our love for Christ and for the people of Honduras drives us to give selflessly and freely, that the free gift might lead to a spiritual awakening and Salvation in our Lord Jesus.

      • Four Corners Ministries

Four Corners exists to communicate and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ among hard-to-reach people groups in Uganda and South Sudan.

      • Africa Inland Mission

Our desire is to see the worship of Jesus Christ spread across the continent of Africa – through individual lives fully committed to him, and collectively through Christ-centered church communities. Our Lord has done a mighty work in Africa, where His Church is vast and growing daily. But with over 1000 African people groups who have yet to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, the task is far from finished.
